In 2024, Valhalla Golf Club plays host to its fourth PGA Championship. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, Valhalla opened in 1986 and has already established itself as one of golf’s most storied venues.

In 2014, Rory McIlroy battled soggy conditions and impending darkness to claim his second Wanamaker Trophy, besting Phil Mickelson by a single shot. In 2000, Tiger Woods defeated Bob May in a three-hole cumulative score playoff. In the 1996 PGA Championship - Valhalla’s first Major Championship - Mark Brooks edged Kentuckian Kenny Perry in a one-hole playoff. Valhalla also hosted the Ryder Cup in 2008, a 16½-11½ triumph for the United States.

Quail Hollow Club
Founded in 1959, Quail Hollow is one of the finest courses in the southeastern United States. The course opened in 1961 and was originally designed by famed golf course architect George Cobb to capture the beauty and challenging terrain of the Piedmont region.

This will be the second PGA Championship played at Quail Hollow, but the first played in the month of May. In August 2017, a 24-year-old Justin Thomas finished two shots clear of Francesco Molinari, Louis Oosthuizen and Patrick Reed to claim the initial major championship victory of his career.

Founded in 1896, Aronimink has hosted a number of significant golf events during its storied history, including the 1962 PGA Championship (won by Gary Player), the 1977 U.S. Amateur (John Fought), the 2003 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship (John Jacobs), and the 2020 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship (Sei Young Kim). Aronimink is the first venue to stage each of the PGA of America’s three rotating major championships (PGA Championship, KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship).

Aronimink’s golf course was designed by Donald Ross in 1926. During the Club’s Centennial Year in 1996, a plaque was unveiled behind the first tee, sharing a 1948 quote from Ross pertaining to his work at Aronimink: "I intended to make this my masterpiece, but not until today did I realize that I built better than I knew.”

In December 2018, the announcement was made to move the PGA of America headquarters from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to Frisco, Texas. In addition to the headquarters and the two championship courses, the facility will also include a short course and practice areas. Gil Hanse designed the East Course, while Beau Welling led the design for the West Course. 

These championship courses will be the anchors of PGA Frisco, which will offer the best coaching, player development and education for PGA Golf Professionals, as well as play on both recreational and championship courses, alongside a magnificent Omni resort and interactive consumer golf experience.

The Olympic Club, Lake Course
The Olympic Club's Lake Course, designed by Willie Watson and built by club superintendent Sam Whiting, opened in 1924. After winter weather damage, Whiting redesigned the course in 1927. Its roster of champions includes Jack Fleck (18-hole playoff victory over Ben Hogan in 1955), Billy Casper (18-hole playoff over Arnold Palmer in ’66), Scott Simpson (1987), Lee Janzen (1998) and Webb Simpson (2012).

This will be the first time the PGA of America will stage any of its pillar events at The Olympic Club, which sports a rich championship heritage having hosted 10+ USGA events, including five U.S. Opens, on its famed Lake Course.

Baltusrol Golf Club, Lower Course
Founded in 1895, Baltusrol has played a prominent role on the national golf stage for nearly 125 years. The 2029 PGA Championship will be staged on Baltusrol’s famed Lower Course, which is an A.W. Tillinghast design. Since opening in 1922, the Lower Course has hosted 10 major golf events, including seven professional major championships. This will be Baltusrol’s third PGA Championship: Phil Mickelson and Jimmy Walker notched memorable one-shot victories on the Lower Course in 2005 and 2016, respectively.  

In 2014, Baltusrol Golf Club was designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service, one of only four golf properties to earn this distinction.

Congressional Country Club
Founded in 1924 by the likes of U.S. Presidents Coolidge, Harding, Hoover, Taft, and Wilson, Congressional was originally established to provide an informal common ground where politicians and peers could meet. Its international recognition has also been achieved in the world of golf.

The Club’s championship Blue Course has already hosted three U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship. Extensively renovated by Andrew Green in 2020-21, the Blue Course looks forward to hosting eight upcoming PGA of America events, including two National Championships, 5 Major Championships and the 2037 Ryder Cup.
