On the eve of the 103rd PGA Championship at Kiawah Island on Wednesday, World No. 1 Dustin Johnson had a fun exchange with a reporter when he was asked what kind of putter he’d be using this week:
Johnson: “A Taylor Made.”
Reporter: “I understand that. Which model?”
Johnson (laughing): “Honestly, I don’t even know the name of it. It’s a Taylor Made, though.”
Reporter: “The reason I ask is people say you like to change putters often, so I thought that we should find out which one you were using on the paspalum greens.”
Johnson: “Yeah. I don’t really like to change clubs ever, but when one’s not working I have to find something else.”
In a game overrun with overthinking, this is just another reason to be envious of DJ.
