Zalatoris, a magician
Will Zalatoris blew his tee shot on the par3 eighth hole way over the back, inside a hazard but still just out of the water. He chipped back toward the green, chipped it to 6 feet and made that for par. His wizardry on the two par 3s so far has been nothing short of amazing.
He's 6 under overall and two shots behind Mito Pereira, who just made bogey on the par-4 seventh hole.

Not to be overlooked
Keep an eye on Cameron Young, who quietly is sitting in a tie for second place at 6 under par.
There's so much focus on Mito Pereira, Will Zalatoris and even Matt Fitzpatrick, but Young is quietly 1 under and just made two amazing par saves on the last two holes, Nos. 6 and 7.

Zalatoris makes another bogey
Will Zalatoris' last four holes - birdie, birdie, bogey, bogey. He's even par for the day but is still three shots behind Mito Pereira. That's the same deficit he faced before the round started but after the first two birdies Zalatoris was tied for the lead. Two holes later, two bogeys later, he's three back again.
Thomas turns even par
Justin Thomas made two birdies and two bogeys on the first nine holes to make the turn at even par.
He's now 2 under par and tied for sixth place.

Fitzpatrick slides
Matt Fitzpatrick hit his tee shot in the water on the par-3 sixth hole but managed to salvage bogey. But he's now 1 over for the day, at 5-under total and four shots behind Mito Pereira.
